Administration

Many generations of Orthodox Christians have been in Delhi since the first Holy Qurbana was celebrated during the Second World War in 1944. Regular worship started in this city thereafter and consequently, the Diocese of Delhi was formed in 1975 with late lamented H.G. Dr. Paulos Mar Gregorios as the first Metropolitan, who was a great proponent of the values that Indian Orthodox Diaspora stands for.

The Indian Orthodox Diaspora is a spiritual organisation of the Malankara (Indian) Orthodox Syrian Church in Delhi. It was recognized as a spiritual organization through a Kalpana issued by former Second Metropolitan of Diocese of Delhi, late lamented H.G. Job Mar Philoxenos of Blessed Memory on February 18, 2005.
